i have done alot of searching on this site and decided that i want to go with 12"-13" apes on my flhx. my question is for you guys running them how tall are you. im preaty short and am a lil. worried about reach and comfert for the long hall. thats my whole reason for looking ito changing the bars. i do have corbins close solo which will help some with the reach and also have corbins rider backrest. i really would like to get rid of the pain between my sholders i get on loger days riding. (400-600) any help would be great!
I have wild one 12.5's and I am 6'. I have a bad upper back injury and these bars are very comfortable. I don't hunch over at all, and can ride all day. My hands are 2" below shoulder height with stock road king seat, and shoulder height with my H-D brawler.
I'm 5'10" and I have the Cyclesmiths 13"...they are pushed all the way forward. I would prefer to have the 16s, but I don't like the look...they stick up too far compared to the 13s. Don't get me wrong I'm comfortable w/ the 13s...just would like to go taller (but not sacrafice looks).
I know of one guy that is at least 2-3 inches shorter than me, he has the 13s and loves them. Also, another friend who is 5'6" that wants them...both have 08 Street Glides.
thanks you both have already helped alot! im about 5'5" my first choice is the 12" yaffe monkey bars and the 13" cyclesmiths are a very close second. i could still go either way

Another rule of thumb to live by (and most will agree) is to go with the taller of the two you are considering. Those who dont usually wish they did.
These bars are very popular here. I just got a set for my 99 RG. I'm tall but these pull back nice for shorter riders. Just throwing it out there for you to consider. http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/de...oduct_ID=23940
Just wondering. It seems that when i travel. I always see riders with apes are usually pulled over by the cops. Is it because the bars are above the legal limit or is it that when you all ride with apes. Your already assuming the position? LOL Just had to add that.
I'm a lot taller than you are,but I think the 13" Cyclesmith bar would be great for you.If you do it yourself, you can adjust the bars back and forth to get the right position that is comfy for you.I have 13"s on my 05 EGC and lovem. You'll all need +6 cables and brake lines.I didn't have to extend the wires, just rerout them under the radio. The Cyclesmith are 1 1/4 dia. and look really good.
