Sorry, posted below info, but didn't pay attention to bike model. Then again you could add a detachable fairing from Dragonfly Concepts, http://www.dragonflycycleconcepts.com/fairings.htm , and then add the following setup.
As far as the Sony goes, I explained the Ipod issue in the last post of that thread. I don't own an Ipod so the model Sony I have works great for me. If you have an Ipod, you may want to move up to the Sony CDX-M50IP.

Yes, I read your thread and realize I need to make a choice there. I don't have an ipod, well, a shuffle, but I'm looking to use the satellite radio more anyway. You can use the ipod on yours, just not control it with your remote, right?
Also, it's only another $30 for the upgrade, I think I may go that way anyway in case I get smart one day and catch up with all this technology.
Your link was exactly what I was looking for, many thanks, it is appreciated.
You mention handlebar controls?
I will be using a stand alone box with radio and speakers, not in a fairing. I will be wiring direct, or to my accesory switch, what kind of handlebar controls do you have?
Model# ? compatability with the Sony unit? Or is thi someting that plugs into a Harley system?
I am by no means a technical person expert, but do have the ability to figure things out with a little guidance.
I have above model in year 2008 and i have been facing problem with the engine temperature which i can even sit on the bike. I was really crazy when i ride it in city when the traffic was so jam and when i ride it to up country it was a bit o.k but still felt the hot air from the engine.
Please kindly help me to solve cos i can really sit on the bike my girlfriend was complaining about the hot air from engine which worse then me.
Am leaving in Bangkok, Thailand. My bike was import direct from USA and the dealer here they not service for those bike who didnt bought from them so i really have to fix by my own (DIY).
You advise will be very much appreciated. Please kindly advise step by step cos am really new and never have experience in bike repair b4.
My 2006 Road Glide has the stock radio controls for the Harmon Kardon radio that came with the bike. They are under the regular switches (volume/audio on left and seek/select on right). To use the sony, and still retain switch control functions, I purchased the control module by Hawg-Wired mentioned at beginning of my thread. Biketronics also sells this module.
Your setup will not use a module or handlebar controls, since the RK is not prewired for radio. You could use the Sony Marine remote commander: http://www.xplodsony.com/marine/accessories/RM-X11M and mount it on the tank/dash closer to you. Otherwise you will just use the radio controls. It will also have a wireless card remote, but I don't use it.
Easiest thing is to pop in a CD loaded with 130-140 MP3 songs and just let it play or use the aux in jack and small MP3 player. I use the 2 gigabyte Creative Zen Stone MP3 player with 200-300+ songs set on shuffle.
My roadking wanted umph also" but clairity as well" (I got both after doing some foot work with several speaker study`s) i ended up going with (infinity-kappa-loud series) search there web, several choices but these are what your looking for and with most quality desighn speakers in todays market can handle most of natures season. I-pod thru pre-amp thru amp to speakers> simply oldscchool basics, as far as satilite radio option goes there is a couple of units on the market that have hard drive in them so you can have your personal music as an i-pod or lisen to the satalite radio in one. if any one is in the (209) your welcome to check it out. Also it`s a easy install.
Travlinman the Sony CDX-M50IP is a very nice marine grade unit. If you don't mine buying online Abt Electronics usually has good price on these. Biketronics has recently introduced a new product called Retro Radio Nomad BT1010 that comes in kit with handlebar switches & control module that works with Sony's. That Sony marine remote commander Deathwind mentioned would be cheaper and should do the job if you handlebar mount it though.
I think I made the decision to go with the Sony, thanks for the help there.
I also don't see a handlebar control in my near future, maybe down the road sometime.
But, am still a little confused on speakers. Not so much the brand, but the type.
Any horror stories of not using marine grade speakers? It's not like the speakers will be facing upwards to form a lake in them.
Seems I might have a problem putting the marine ones in the box. (but not totally out of the question)
If not marine grade, any brand fair better in foul weather?
