Default Lowering kit blues

06 Electraglide with low profile shocks and lowering kit. Wiring harness to back is shredded again. Really need it like this to sit flat footed. Any suggestions? Will maxing out the air shocks help? What is max PSI? Any other suggestions?

Go to http://bitchinbaggers.com/.....I've heard good things about their drop shocks. I'm thinking about trying them myself. Can't bottom out on fender. I too shredded my wires with a drop kit. Otherwise....do what I did. Rerun your wires outside the fender until you go to the back by the light...no more shredding.

What do you wear on your feet when riding?

I had mine lowered and the Reach seat installed but I still could not flatfoot. My heel was almost about 1/2" off the ground.

I bought a good pair of H-D riding boots (The Dipstick) with a taller heel that my older boots and I now flatfoot my ride with ease. I was getting set to add lowering blocks to the back but now I don't have to.

I just lowered my EGS with an adjustable 1"-3" kit from Ebay. I started on the 3" hole and got some rubbing so I pumped up the shocks to about 27#'s and no more. I'm a pretty big guy and I was surprised that I got no rubbing. I really like the way it sits now, but I might have to move it to the 2" hole after reading this.

I'm 5' 8" tall and lowered my EGC rear only by 1" and I flat foot it fine.

I run Draggin Baggers (yep - still working great! : ) and they go low enough that I was starting to see the wear on the harness in the fender too. So I just moved the harness. Used some nuclear 3M double sided tape to run it from the back of the tailight across the inside of the fender then around the edge and up inside the chrome saddlebag supports. Around the shock bolt along the frame and back into the battery area under the seat. Added about 12" of wire which ended up being too much, but it works great and you can't see any of it. Now I can slam it anytime and there's no wires to hit. If you have your bike set up the way you like and it and the ride feels good, leave it and move the harness.
