question for you 08 road King owners
Friends came down from wisconsin
My buddy rented a 08 Road King classic last weekend for THUNDER BEACH in Panama City
He has a 2001 Electra Glide standard that he bought new
He rides alot of miles every year in Wisconsin
loves his electra glide
But
He was having trouble with vibration on the 08 Road King
they had to get off every 30-45 miles
asses were numb
we were wondering why??
is this an issue with the 07 - 08 touring frames???
Never have noticed a vibration in mine. Bro-in-law has an '07 and hasn't said anything. A numming vibration? At all speeds? Just came back from a run down 101 in Oregon (lots of slow twisties) and back up I-5 at 70 to 75 mph and had no sore cheeks at all! May be an isolated problem.
Maybe it had scissored crank, or one or more bad/loose motor mounts, or some undue mounting tension in one or both of the mufflers, or contact with the frame by the exhaust system somewhere, or maybe a bad tire and/or bent wheel. These are all problems which can crop up on just about any bike. Sure, it's happened some on the '07s and later, too.
Something's wrong, my 08 has no vibration. Mounts perhaps or hard, loose seat? Had a corbin seat that rattled my teeth on a 1600 Vulcan. Both are gone, and Corbin will never be near one of my bikes again. Awful customer care... sorry there is no customer care... Oopps now there was an unrelated vent. At any rate my 08 is smooth as can be-- but I've only had it up to 85. I'm a wimp.
I've averaged about 1,000 miles a month on my '08 FLHRC and never had any problems like that. The stock seat killed me so I sent it Allen at MCC; I'm installing it this AM and going to give it a test ride.
