Default 07 FLHX Idle Problem

I have an 07 FLHX that is stock with the exception of 3 1/2 inch Python mufflers, screaming eagle stage I air cleaner kit, and a SERT. Coming home from a ride yesterday i started shutting off everytime I stopped at a light or stop sign. When I got home it shut down again in the driveway, so I turned everything off for a minute, then restarted the engine. It idles fine, so I took it for a short around the block ride and it ran perfect. Rode a little today with no problem also. Any ideas what may have caused that? It has 6600 miles on it. A SERT hiccup maybe?

Default idle problem

i got an 07 flhx, around 9,900 miles it was idling high and shut off. brought it in for 10,000 service and they checked computer to see what codes were showing. nothing major. they did change spark plugs and it hasn't happened again. i've put over 500 miles on it since the new plugs and its all good. guess that was it. by the way, i have the stage 1 and the download, hope this helps.

check the cables at the battery....just make sure their terminals are clean and tight. Also check for stored codes to see if there was some sort of issue that needed to have a sensor or something re-set. Sometimes a fault comes up .....but if there was something wrong there is a good chance that a code is stored. and then after a few "cycles" it will reset. Its hard to tell without a bit more info.

There is an idle control screw at about three o'clock on your throttle body.. Reach around the backside of the throttle body you should be able to find it, if it is loose you will need to take your air cleaner / backing plate off, pull that screw, soak it with loctite and put it back in. You should do this with a warm engine so it's easy to get the idle accurate. If your bike is under warranty you could get the stealership to take care of it.
