Default FLHX Pullbacks

Was at the dealer looking to get some pull back bars for the wife's streetglide. Available now but not for bikes with the fairing mount mirrors.

Cost was $989 plus installation and wiring and cables which all have to be replaced as well as bar mirrors...

With install looking at around $1800...

Ouch. WTF. Anyone else priced this out?

That is ludicrous for replacing bars.

Got to an indy shop.

I did this on my classic, best mod I did. Here is what you actually need - bars are 59 bucks. Clutch cable - you need the longer one, it is like 99 bucks. That is ALL you need. They are just taking you for a ride on anything else. I had a local independent do it for 277 and he put on a cruise control included in the price. The stealership wanted over a thousand to do the job and said I needed all kinds of other stuff.
BTW- I have fairing mounted mirrors, and the bars don't block them at all.

Find a local independent moto mechanic to do the job or do it yourself.

I changed the bars on my 08 Ultra to the Khrome Werks Sweeper +2 bars and got the +4 clutch cable from a HD Forum sponsor Warehouse Direct (they give us a discount..ask for Corey) and the cost of the bars & cable was just over a hundred dollars. Labor hours should run around 3-4 hours.

Ouch is right! I have a 2008 Standard so I had HD Pullback bars $60, modified by a local builder for $30, a +3 clutch cable $100, and two hours labor at the dealer $112, a little over $300 all complete. I had another dealer, however, who would not even quote a price because the bars were "modified". This was the best mod I have done, no doubt on that.

I recently installed a set of Khrome Werks 300515 +2 Wide Sweeper bars on my 2008 Street Glide for under $250. If you prefer not to run the wires internally, you can save $80 and not purchase a new twist grip sensor. These bars are a great improvement over the stock bars. Here are some pics and a thread with more information on the install.

I'm a small guy at 150lbs and 5'8" and had back and shoulder aches with regular SG bars. I put the HD pullback bars on. With the angle set for me there is no interference with the mirrors and the ride is more comfortable now. So I to recomend the bars but the price quoted to you is criminal.

Paid $275.00 total to put HD pullback on my 08 Streetglide done by dealership including modifying the bar for the throttle by wire. I did put mirrors on the bars so that was an extra cost for the mirrors ... my preference is the mirrors on the bars as I can't stand the fairing mirrors.

Getting ready to do the Khrome Werks sweepers. Bars and Magnum Chromite +4 clutch and +2 throttle idle around 270 ish. Man those cables are high. But I thought I would go ahead and do it up while I'm doing. Looking at chrome controls too. Chromite brake lines will come later.

1800 bucks.........forgetaboutit. Get to shopping and do it yourself.
