Default Ride Down South

Just made a quick ride from Connecticut to SW West Virginia over the weekend. The scenery was fantastic ended up with about 1350 miles in three days.

Nice way to spend the long weekend

Sounds like a great ride, Charlie! How were the leaves in West Virginia - turning great colors yet?

Sounds like you kept the wheels turning on a great ride.

The leaves were really great I went down R-81 to I-64 to Oak Hill, WV. Then came back up thru the state using R-19 to 79 then across Maryland to I-81 and then back North ( the worst part of the trip). I just wanted to check the southern route instead of going to Vermont again.

Did you make it to New River Gorge Bridge?
If you didn't...TURN AROUND AND GO BACK!

That area is gorgeous!

Some of us wouldn't call that a ride down south, but glad you had a good trip. The leaves are barely started in So Mo and No Ark.

beat me to it, don't think a lot of people would consider VA down south...lol

but like everything else, I guess it's all relative

nothing wrong w/ VA though, at least they have open carry laws, even in bars/restaurants that serve, can't beat that w/ a stick

oh, now I see it was SW W VA, I missed the second W... Well, WV does appear a little more country in some parts, easily confused w/ the south

I've been to the New River bridge area many times. I wanted to go before bridge week which is next weekend. I think they will close it on Thursday or Friday of this week for festivities.
