Well you guys are responsible. I spent entirely too much time on this forum. The other day I traded in my beloved '07 Ultra (27k miles) for an '09 Street Glide. I was concerned about the comfort and lack of a tour pack. It wasn't a mistake. What a sweet, hot ride! The new frame is beautiful and solid as a rock. The bike is lighter and easier to handle and handles way better than the ultra. No more funny feeling when going into sweeping turns either. I used to feel the tires not tracking properly like I had a loose engine mount. A big reason for the upgrade was the ABS brakes. I really like them. Solid and smooth. A nice improvement. My wife bought a Heritage Classic so I no longer have her on the back. That was one of the reasons for the change. Who needs a tour pack? I'll just travel a little lighter. If anyone is thinking about it, all I can say is do it. You won't be disappointed. The only down side is the throttle. It's not as smooth as the cable setup on my last bike. I have a couple of buds that have '08's and they say it will come to me in a little time. I've got almost 500 miles on it so far and I'm in red sunglow heaven. I spent my $500 dealer allowance on other stuff and didn't get a set of slip on mufflers. Does anyone know if I can remove some baffles in the stock mufflers? They sound ok but should be throatier. My last ride had a Bassini true dual setup that barked. It doesn't have to be that loud, but I would like it to make some more noise.
I'm looking at trading my 05 ultra with all kinds of goodies on a 09 SG too. I don't want to be nosy but would you share how much cash you had to outlay to get it out the door? thanks

Buy a 09 ultra, and undress it.. it's cheaper to dress down than dress up.. You'll miss the trunk... and all what the ultra offers..

You probably would have noticed the same going from a older ultra to a 09 ultra
I love my Ultra for two-up riding but there would be no doubt that i would buy a Street Glide if i rode solo.........i wish the wife was tall enough to ride her own, but i still ride a great machine........
I went from a VTX to the Ultra and all I can say is....I am damn glad I now have a trunk, fairing, stereo, CB, hard bags, and a bike that will continue to be produced. I can't wait to buy an 09......in 2012. :-)
I went from a V-Star to an Ultra, what a difference, what a bike, love it,wife loves it even more,if she wasn't so short she'd probably take it for her own LOL.
