My a$$ needs to know what is the best seat for someone over 300 lbs? I know ya'll are out there I've seen ya. I've got a new Sundowner I guess Ineed a little more width (it's definitly better than stock).
Road Zeppelin is 21" across the hips. Stock seat is about 17. That alone makes a huge difference, even if you don't use the air bladders. I think so far it's only made up through '07 models. In '08 the seat / tank mounts were changed.
It does move you forward a little as well, which you may or may not like.
I'm 280 and I usually like a Mustang for my keester, but you know what? The stock seat on my 09 FLTR is pretty nice. I definitely could live with it for a while, maybe longer! Same with the stock exhaust, it rocks too (although I will replace w/ monster ovals.)
The most comfortable seat I've experienced on a Harley is the air seat system on the newer model police bikes. It's wide, and moves you back an inch or so to adjust for the abundant posterior. Not the most stylish seat, but I gave up on style when my scale went past 299.
The Road Zep, while very comfortable, moves you forward a bit. For some, that's a good thing.
That actually should be the AIR Zeppelin, not road zeppelin. The previous poster got the name wrong and then I did too. I'll go take a picture and post it for you.
