I met a Gerbing rep who indicated it is not safe to use the battery tender lead (I have one on my Ultra) because it is not fused to the same amperage as the Gerbings requires. The Gerbings equipment comes with a battery lead, already fused. It's a great set up.
I use the gerbing setup..
I bought the double thermostat - can set 2 seperate temperatures.
I use one for the gloves and the other one for the jacket when I ride solo.
If we ride 2 up, the gloves plug into connectors on the jacket..
she can then set her own temp for her jacket and gloves
found the heated seat on ebay for the finishing touch
TCC, Gerbings jacket liner, gloves, pants and socks. I'm in north central Mass and ride till the snow flies and will do a 300 mile day in total comfort with a 3/4 helmet and face shield.
Get the controller and it's something that will add 6 to 8 weeks of riding in total comfort to the front and back end of each riding season. I bought mine in 01 and am stillusing all of it, which is cheap enough for an added 3 months of riding each year!
Good places to buy are Moto Market in Acton Ma or Cycle Design in Phillipston Ma.
pop me an e-mail if you want to know more. I'm in Ashby Ma.

I just changed the fuse to a 15 amp fuse and it's fine.
about this time of the year, I add my soft lowers, warm-n-safe electric heated gloves and jacket liner. I have a pair of moto-gp insulated pants. I am adding a 3/4 helemt and shield this year to the cold weather gear.
