Default Handlebar installation

Getting ready to install a set of Khromewerks 300505 handlebars on my 03 FLHTCI. Never had any problems until someone hit me last fall. Even after treatment, I now get a pain in my lower neck, right between the shoulder blades. I find I am leaning forward too far. I do have the Service manual, and have ordered a 3" over clutch cable, transmission gasket, and the Reduced Effort Clutch Kit 36808-05 as well. I understand the snap ring under that transmission cover is a tough one. I bought a good sturdy set of snap ring pliers for that. I have been into the fairing before. Is there anything else that I should be on the lookout for?

Make sure you change out your Upper handle bar clamp... HD's are really junk...

With a good set of pliers that snap ring is easy. It's big and easy to get a hold of. No problem at all.

After some searching, I found a part number of 55918-08. That is supposed to be the part number off of a street glide that has the one piece clamp. Any reason why that wouldn't fit my bike?

I did that very same bar swap last winter and swapped out the idle and throttle cables too. I also changed out the front brake lines. I just couldn't get enough reach reinstalling the stock lines by trying to straighten the hard line tubing and it just looked like crap. I also ran the scoot up onto a 2 x 6 x 8 plank to give the scoot a little more tip and I didn't have to drain the tranny.

Have you done a cam tensioner check/change?

Almost forgot, don't forget about new grips!!

How much work was involved in changing the front brake line? Do you remember a part number? BTW, love your footboard extensions!

Brake lines were a snap, Just a PITA dealing with the fluid which also should be changed out about every 2 years anyway. The brake line is #45212-97B which I got thru Chicago HD.

Thank you.

Don't want to rabbit trail too far here, but no, I have checked the cam chain tensioners yet. On the to do list. Without checking the manual, how bad of a job is that?

I was hoping for a black brake line. How much longer of a brake line do you suggest?
