Default socket size

Going to change my rear pads on my 05 Road King and naturally of the thousands of dollars worth of tools in my garage none fit the two pad pins or the caliper bolts. So off to the store to buy two more sockets, anyone know exactly what size they are? I think the pad pins are 1/4" 12 point, and the other 10mm 12 point. I don't want to buy them without knowing for sure. Thanks

Same problem yesterday. Solved at AutoZone with a 1/4 inch combination wrench. Box end is 12 point.
Could not find the socket at Auto Zone, but did not look any place else.
YMMV

+1 on the 1/4" 12 point and 10mm 12 point. Had me confused too. S.A.E. and metric on the same part. Go figure.

It's a reason to buy some new tools, so that is a good thing. You can never have too many.

I went through that too. 1/4" 12pt socket. I tell ya, some of those kids that they hire at the auto parts store don't know the difference between 12mm and 12pt.
Oh, don't even tell the guy you're working on a Harley. They will insist that ya should go to the Harley Davidson dealer for the tool.
