I'm starting to get some starter kickback when starting the bike cold...even using my compression releases.
Typically, this is caused by a weak battery.
My battery is the OEM battery, 3 years old.
Only this year have I started using my Battery Tender, religiously.
Question is, is 3 years about the average lifespan of these batteries?
Depending on where you live & how often you ride... But 3 years is NOT UNCOMMON for a battery to fail.
I changed mine out at about 5 years old (on the RKC) just in case before leaving on a 6K putt..
Yep, 3 years is normal for one to shoot craps, some last longer some less. You could take the battery in and have it load tested, to find out for sure.
