MU85-16 VS MT90B16 on Touring Model

MU85-16 VS MT90B16 on Touring Model

How many have opted to use the wider MU8516 on their 02 or older touring bike. I am planning a ride out to the Blue Ridge Parkway and need to replace tires before I go. I realize the tire is slightly wider and has 2/32 more tread. Has anyone suffered ANY ill effects from going to this tire (clearance issues, handling, etc.)?

I have a 90/90/21 on my bagger and it handles well .

I had one on my 02 FLTR & it was fine. The clearance between the belt & the tire was "close", but no problem at all. As far as ride/handling.... I could not tell a difference between the 85 & the 90.

I had the 85 on my RKC, went back to the 90 when I changed tires last year. I really couldn't tell the difference.

I don't think there is enough change in width to really tell any difference in handling. I think its just a mental and visual thing.
