Default Windshield Scratches

Can someone give me some ideas on what to use to remove some fine scratches on my clearview windshield?

Thanks.....

Novus scratch remover is really good. Usually available at your local Harley Dealer. I think the scratch remover is #2 and for all the time use #1. Really makes cleaning your windshield easier. On trips I always carry a bottle of the#1 with me and it cleans up bugs and junk real qiuck. Like I said, use #1 all the time, seems to put a slight wax? on the sheild which makes cleaning easier.

Novus is what Clearview recommends using....they even sell a package deal with all three formulas. MeGuiers also sells a plastic three step polish that works well.

To avoid getting scratches in the shield I recommend using Plexus spray plastic cleaner.....in my opinion its a bit better than the Novus spray.

I have both the Novus and MeGuiers plastic polish (scratch remover) on the shelf, and I very rarely need to use either one because the only think I touch my windshields with is the Plexus and 100% cotton terry cloth or a micro-fiber.

before you go to clean it you can put a clean rag under hot water and put it over the windshield to help loosen the bug crap... just don't 'wipe' it - this is before doing the actual cleaning....

Novus, Meguires and Plexus all have products that remove scratches. I have used them all at one time or another. I have a slight preference for the plexus products. Lemon pledge also works for cleaning and will reduce very fine scratches.
Best to use clean microfiber cloths and avoid the scratches. Also do not dry the microfiber cloths in a clothes drier, they will stay softer.

I doubt anything will remove any scratches without ruining the clear coat on the outside surface. A soft liquid wax(with low solvent content) may help you 'hide' something for a bit but removal requires that you bite below the surface.
