Has a thread already discussed the True-Track stabilizer and if so what was the out come. This bit says to me that you don't need them on 2006 and above models. Am I wrong or what?
You are reading an article from 2005! So to answer your question, yes a similar system is desirable on the 2006, 2007 and 2008. I believe the frame changes on the 2009 have eliminated the need.

I have one on my bike and it works well. There are several stabilizers out there and pros and cons to all. Do some research and pick the one that works for you. You won't regret the investment.
