Default Picked up my 09 FLTR today !

Picked up my 09 FLTR today from Santa Cruz HD and cant say enough about the service and price! Put a couple hundred miles on her today, want to lower her an inch or two and wondering what others have done on their 09's?

The low pro HD shocks look nice but are expensive, what about some of the lowering kits like Arlen Ness offers or others... any feedback appreciated

CONGRATS on the New Putt.... About lowering... I have used a couple of different lowering kits and all I can say is DON'T DO IT... If you plan on lowering it go with a GOOD Air Ride Kit...
I tried the cams @ -2 1\4" and had to jack up the air pressure up so high as to not bottom out SOLO and it rode like a HardTail... Moved it up to -1 1\4 for 2-up loaded riding and again had to play with the air shocks again not to bottom out 2-Up.. It was OK Solo @ -1 1\4...

Congrats on the new Road Glide! You will love it!

As to lowering, I ordered the Harley Touring Lowering Kit from bikersdelight on ebay. This was a cheep way to try it out. I kept my stock length shocks and installed the adjustable lowering blocks from them for $66 shipped. So far, I have been very happy with it at the 1" setting. I set my air shocks at 24-26psi and I am fine. No bottoming. I move it to 26-28psi for two up. I weigh 210 and my wife is about 120. It was cheap, so if it did not work, I was not too bummed. A good air ride lowering kit would certainly be a nice upgrade to not only lower your ride but also to upgrade the stock shocks. However, they can be much much pricier. Try the blocks, you may be surprised. If not, put them back on E-bay to recoup the $. Only out a few bucks. Just my .02
