I have an '09 Street Glide that is almost begging for some chrome wheels. The design of the stockers isn't too bad, so getting them plated is an option.
Three questions:
-Is the design of the '09 rear wheel something that would rule out plating
-Are there any reasons that make plating a set of stock wheels a bad idea
-Can any of you recommend a shop for plating a set of wheels?

When/if you have them done, sure would like to see pics.
+1 FOR CHROMEPROSPLATING....They did mine, and I couldn't be happier. One of the best bang for the buck mods you can do. The saved maintenance alone is worth it... Besides the great look.... You won't be disappointed. $550 for both wheels. Winter is almost here, great time to do it....
I did that with my 2004 Ultra's wheels. Still using them and the chrome is still without flaws. Would do it again. I used Chrome Pros Plating. Great people to work with, and VERY affordable. http://www.chromeprosplating.com/
I have used ChromePros also they did a good job. I would definitley plate your stock wheels so you can retain the new fancy IDS system thats built into the back wheel.
