I had rotator cuff surgery 2 1/2 months ago.last ride was aug.9th.I'm just wondering if anyone else has gone thru this and if so just how long did it take you before you could ride confidently.right now the only saving grace is winter is getting closer by the day.thanks in advance.

I haven't had rotator cuff surgery, but 3 1/2 weeks ago I had my left hip replaced completely. I have been pushing the physical therapy and hope to be back on my bike in about three weeks. Now if only the weather will hold!!

Hang in there and get well. Be patient and know next riding season will be a whole lot more enjoyable for you!!

I just went through my 2nd shoulder rotator cuff surgery. (left side this time) I was back riding in 2 weeks. The shoulder is still weak, but atleast I can ride. Have to push the therapy.

Had mine done, and I was close to 8 weeks before I was comfortable riding again.

My situation may have been different than yours. I had a full thickness tear in my supraspinatus, partial thickness tear in my infraspinatus, multiple tears in the labrum and a large area of calcification that had to be removed. It was three months before I was comfortable on the bike for short periods of time, I also started bench pressing at three months. My doctor and physical therapist were not thrilled by either activity.

I had mine done 2 years ago But I have 6 anchor bolts in my shoulder holding my tendons and muscles together. I had a diffrent bike when I first had it done had to change bars to help the pain. Now I have an E.G. and I need to put small apes to help with the discomfert. My shoulder has never been right since.

You need to go to a Massage therapist. they can make the blood flow better which promotes faster healing. It's great for injuries! how do I know, wife is a Massage therapist, and keeps me riding and walking with my list of injuries. you won't regret it. happy trails!
