I've been blacking out my 2000 RK Police, buying parts on ebay, getting them PC'd, installing them, then selling the chrome stuff on ebay to keep the expense managable. The last major item to install was the rocker boxes, which I did yesterday. Got everything back together, started her up, and heard the most godawful clanking noise.
Long story short, I have to take it to the local dealer to fix my screw-up and hope he can get it done before Laughlin, and that it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I work a job on-call for eleven days, then four days off. Because I'm pretty much gone the whole eleven days, first order of business on my rest days is catching up with the honey-do list, playing with my kids, etc. Until this weekend, the weather has always been too crappy to get out and ride on my days off, but Sunday I got to take the first ride of spring with my brother in law (rides a Victory), which is good, 'cause it looks like I won't get to ride for a couple of weeks. My work cycle starts at midnight. I ride to work every day, but it sure felt good to just get on it and cruise, and I'm glad I got to ride before I screwed it up.
The RK looks f'ing awesome all blacked out, though.
