Ordered from LSHD1
I never had any issues with Zanotti. Are you sure you experience wasn't a one off? The Zanotti moderator can file her nails all she wants. I place the order online and get a great discount in the process. Just sayin.
I have made many $100+ orders from them over the last few years. Great to deal with. Great prices and usually get free shipping. I started dealing with them after tiring of Zanottis inconsistent shipping charges and Chicago Harleys inability to keep common and popular items in stock.
Funny as hell reading all this,LSHD is about 5 miles from my house.Don't any of y'all be asking me to go over there and see WTF's going on with the stuff you ordered
Funny thing is I rarely use them to buy parts, their customer service has improved greatly from where it was 3 years ago,but sucked pretty bad back then.As a result I got used to going to a different dealer in the area and do just as well on getting a few bucks knocked off whatever I need.

Bill runs the internet store at Lakeshore, I have no idea of how many orders I have placed with them. I used to put together a spread sheet , MSRP, LSHD,Zannotti's, ChicagoHD. and do price compares. Sometimes others may have had an item or two cheaper, BUT, when the botom line totals, nobody beat LSHD. Have ordered $100 up to $750 with multiple items at least a dozen times while customizing 2 bikes, helmets, gloves, leathers, etc. Just can't say enough. Sometimes have items in 2 days, sometimes on special order it may take a week or so. I don't even shop around anymore, just order and install. June Sparks will keep you updated with status emails if backordered.
I've spend what I consider to be an utterly asinine amount of money on parts over the last three years with Bill Sparks at Lake Shore. Yes, in the summer when they're absolutely swamped, it can take 12 days or so to get special order stuff -- but off-season, they are very fast. I almost always order more than $500, so shipping is usually free. But even if your order is under $500 (or they're not running a shipping special), they only charge the actual shipping rate.
My local dealer really rapes us on things you find in your parts manual (e.g., seals, o-rings, etc.: double MSRP or more). Lake Shore gives 20% off that stuff, too -- with no sales tax added since I'm not in IL. That's a tremendous savings. Oh yeah, they also carry the full Drag Specialties catalog, Kuryakyn, and Rush at discounted prices, too.
The true test of customer service isn't price or speed or selection: it's how a problem is dealt with. I've had two hiccups in about a dozen orders of perhaps 150 parts and accessories total: a mirror arrived broken, and I received the wrong model brake lever. Bill made both problems right -- right away. He shipped the replacement/correct parts long before I sent back the broken/wrong ones -- no questions asked. I'm often bummed by the death of "the customer is always right" mentality in our service industries. But Bill and June Sparks actually get it.

$500 and over is free shipping. They have specials on shipping most every month. Bill will give you his cell phone number at no additional cost. From where I stand, it is more like 29% off since my local sales tax is 9%. That's a bunch. If you know what you want and don't have to have the part right away, you can't go wrong. I saved over $500 on my last order over what my local dealer would charge.

Lake Shore is great to do business with. I have ordered several times and have been very pleased. Heck, Bill even called me back and gave me his cell phone number so I could get hold of him easier, and I didn't even ask for it. No doubt i will be ordering more from Lake Shore and Bill Sparks, He's a great guy. Plus like one post said 20% off and no 9% tax = 29% off.
About 3 weeks ago I order a Service Manual and Owners Manual from Chicago HD. After two weeks, I di not hear a thing from them. I called to ask the status of my order, and was told it would be another 3 weeks! I promptly cancilled my order.
Last night around 4 am, I ordered the same manuals from LSHD. I received a confirmation email at 4:46 am. At 4:11 pm I received an email "customer service" that my order has shipped. At 4:14 pm I received another somewhat personal email from "June Sparks" at LSHD saying my order had shipped. Now that's what I can service.
LSHD ad the same 20% off list that Chicago HD had. Guess which one gets my future business.
