I had the Racetech front suspension kit including the gold valves on a 96 Yamaha Royal Star and it made a world of difference. I believe you need to match the springs to your normal, or mostly normal riding weight to get the best out of it, but between loosing the dive when you hit the front brakes and the improved handling in the twisties they made a real difference. I've also been thinking about putting them in my 08 Ultra. Tires will never make up for the difference you feel from a really good suspension.

If you raise the rear end another inch with new/longer springs will that harm anything in the drivetrain? Does changing the angle of the swingarm have some bad effect on the belt?
