I am 5'11" and have the Klockwerks on mine. Seeing over it is no problem but I am right on the edge of the wind. On warmer days it is awesome when it is cool I do get some turbulence (I plan on having Mean City modify my seat this winter so that will be cured). I have never tried the clearview but with the KW I am way more stable at higher speeds than with the stock windsheild.
thanks guys - looks like im going to go with the Clearview with the 8" Dark Grey tint with the recurve. i want to go with the 6.5" but no one has indicated if it would still buff the head with airflow. also u all saying 8" is below field of view. i hope so... can it be cut down - the recurve that is ?
Have a Klock W/S on my 08 FLHT best thing I ever had. Bike is stable at high speed [ passing trucks] and good protection for me. I have a Mustang seat on the bike so might sit a little lower but not much! It is noisey but most of the time I wear a full face helmet so it doesn't bother me. Pricey? maybe but compared to buying parts for my BMW this thing is cheap!
I am 6' 4" and have a 2008 FLHTCU. I replaced the stock 12" windshield with a Clearview 9.5" gray tinted recurve. Extremely satisfied with this mod. I can easily see over the top and have no head buffetting up to 90 mph.
I ran my clearview through the spring and went back to the factory shield for the summer. This past sunday I put it back on for winter. It definitely takes the wind off of me. I went with the tallest shield they had and I can just see over the top of it.
I have a Clearview on my 02 Ultra Classic and my 08 Road Glide. I am very happy with both of them. Thought about getting the Klock for the RG but read way too many negative comments about them. I am 6'-4" and have the stock seat on both bikes. I have a 9-1/2" on the Ultra and the GT Large on the RG. Neither of them have the optional vent but both have the recurve. Great quality and you won't find a product that is packed better for shipping. It is almost funny how much packing material they use. I ride with a full face helmet all the time and like to keep my visor open (I wear sunglasses during the day and yellow glasses at night.) I can ride comfortably on both bikes with very little to no wind buffeting. I have only used the stock windshield and the Clearview. If I need another windshield I will definitely get another Clearview. I only wish it didn't take a month or so to get them. Clearview also has great customer service.
just before i place my order.. anyone with the 6.5".recurve.. ?? i want to know if it will stop the buffing and let some airflow to keep cool in summer. ... i still want my SG to have the sporty look of a small windshield..
please comment .
thanks.
