Default Repainting silver denim street glide???

I have a friend who gently dropped his street glide last week. It is an 07 street glide in silver denim. He scratched the front fairing a bit and the bags.

I've never dealt with the Harley denim paints, but how do you get them repainted? Can I buy paint from Harley and take it to a bodyshop? Or is there anything special to having a denim paintjob redone? He likes the color and only needs the bags and fairing done, and doesn't want to go for a full custom paintjob right now.

Any info or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I got a rock chip on my 2009 pewter denim fairing and bought some touch up paint from my dealer. Beware - there is a "silver denim" and a "pewter denim" available. I never realized there was a silver denim.

Be sure he gets the right color or he could be disappointed.

I'm afraid to do it myself so I was going to call an auto repair shop. Chip left some original paint in the middle so I need someone to smooth it back out first.

instead of calling a body shop, isn't there any of the touch up dentless removal shops around you, if not the expensive car dealers or detail shops should know of some professional touch up guys. just a thought

I think there is one dentless shop - I'll try there. Small town 110,000. Thanks!

So is my 2009 according to my documents and Harley web site color choices. I'll double check before I get it touched up though.

2009 Street Glides come in Pewter Pearl or Pewter Denim. The denim is the flat paint which is what I have.

the pewter pearl and denim are the same base color, the only difference is the clear coat. The denim is a flat clear, PPG has a great match for it. If its just a bags and a fairing, call or send a message to Fatbaggers.com They have done some denim work for some other guys on this board.
