oil in the air line is comming from your air compressor. not your bike.
DO NOT, I REPEAT...DO NOT EVER USE AN AIR COMPRESSOR ON HD AIR SHOCKS.
They put out entirely too much air pressure and will blow the shock. Get the HD hand pump made specifically for this purpose or use a bicycle hand pump.

Actually, I have never used my air compressor to put air in the shocks. When I checked pressure, oil came out, no air. So no, it is not coming from my air compressor.
There is oil inside the shocks, and not from the compressor. You shouldn't be using a compressor to fill your shocks anyway. Unless you're itching to buy a new pair every time you fill the air! An hand airpump is a must for every bagger's owner with air shocks.

granted I would not suggest every joe to us a compressor on their air shocks. I have a small oilless air comprssor with an air regulator set to 20 psi, I have adjusted my shocks up & down many times with no problems. The guy with straight oil in his lines obviously has problems with his shocks.
What about those little car air compressors? The ones that are powered from the cigarette lighter? Those things seem super weak anyway. Would that be okay wiht air shocks as long as I kept a real good eye on what's going on?
