I modded my Road Glide box's and installed Pez's lower's speaker kit in them it really wasn't to hard, just permanent! Really kicks with the hogtunes I already had in the fairing, turned the gain up too, HUGE difference, I had mine on 0 it's +3 now
How bad do you have to chop up the inner lowers?
I have his amp and fairing speakers now also. One of the Indy's on line told me the kit would fit with no problems.......obviously not...
Do you get a kickback for every time you post about Firecap? I've heard Arc, Hawgwired, and Hogtunes...I don't hear much of a difference when riding, and I'm not a poser, so I don't blast the stero while I'm sitting in a bar...so why spend a ton when you can get great sound, the cleanest install of all of them, and a great price with Hogtunes? I know you're invested in your choice, but it gets a little old seeing yu post on every single thread about Arc and Firecap.

I installed some in my lower fairing glove boxes.I was going to install them so they would fit in the openings, but I did not have the time to modify the irreguler surface. So what I did was mount the 5 1/4 ARC speakers in the bottom facing down. They are out out plain site and I can hear them.Sometime in the future I will do as Gilbo did.
I got on a roll up in the barn and forgot to take any pic's of the box before I covered it back up, but basicly I just traced the rear of your speaker on cardboard and then make a sheet metal plate, (drilled the 4 holes in it and the hole for that big ole magnet) used the cardboard template to mark the Roadglide glove box and then cut out the sections that needed to be gone so that the plate would sit flush and drilled two holes in the plastic (used the bottom outside factory hole and bolted it in, one hole is only in the sheet metal plate) I'll take some picture's of it Pez when I get the mat. to recover the Glovebox's, I reused the factory mat. and it's a little worn in place's All in all not a hard job but once done it's forever But it rocks hard!!!
I did not pull the mat'l off to see the shape of the surface underneath.I can tell it was not flat. How did you get your mount on flush?
The way you did it sounds like it works.Maybe another way would be to cut some plastic and glue it on or something to get the flat surface.
Your pics would be very useful!
