I wouldn't worry too much about the helmet getting stolen....now the bike, that's a whole different story.

Rear saddlebag guard is a good place to put a helmet lock. If you have a black bike (like everybody should) you can get a black lock from the J & P catalog or online for about $15.00 or $ 20.00.

Inside saddlebag (Half helmet) or I bought a inline combo cable lock. Suits the purpose...

I have a back rest on my Road King,Most of the time I just set one helmet in the buddy seat,Its snug between the backrest and the wife's backrest. Then hang mine on the mirrow.
But this opens another discussion,I have heard by many people that it will ruin your helmet to hang it on mirror, brake foot peg or anything of this sort.by doing this it ruins the padding on the inside of the helmet.I really don't know.

i bought the H-D helmet lock and installed on engine guard, this will probably be the least expensive part you buy for the bike

Yep, me too. I always leave mine on the seat no matter where I go... Work, Mall, Store, Dealer, Bar, anywhere...

Never had a problem at all. People have to be pretty brave to mess with a Harley. They never know how mean the SOB is that owns the Hog. :-)

Cheapest way to secure a helmet to your bike is as follows . .

Go to your local sheriff or police department and ask if they have any triggerlocks for handguns and rifles.

Most have tons and give them away to home owners and gun owners.

They have coated cables and locks so they wont scratch anything.

Also easy to store in the bike!

I usually just hang it. If I am away for awhile I will stick the strap in the saddlebag and close the lid on the strap. Just to keep honest folks honest. If someone wants it bad enough there is nothing you can do.
