It's only November and it's already 40 degrees outside ,here in Pennsylvania. I can't stand it. I need to ride. Soooo, yesterday , I bundle up, jump on, and head down the road. About three miles and I'm crying. Damn it 's cold!!! Someone that is used to riding in the cold, please tell me how to stay warm without being so bundled that I can't move. What works, a snowmobile suit? I know, I'm a puss, can't stand the cold. Actually, I wear shorts all winter, even shovel snow in shorts. So I can stand the cold, just not the cold while riding.
move to florida....talk all you want about hurricanes......at least I can ride 12 months out of the year...................
Turned out to be a pretty nice day here in the Pacific Northwest. One of my riding buddies and I headed off for the Long Beach Peninsula. Got into the upper fifties. The ride down was a bit brisk but coming back was really nice.
Back from a GREAT ride. Yea, a bit nippy, but GREAT!! Geez, it warmed up to 43 degrees, what more could you want for the middle of November? Tomorrow supposed to be nice as well. These last days rides before real winter are a treasure. The Heated Vest I have is prolly 10 years old at least, and just doesn't seem to do it anymore. I think that Gerbing recommendation sounds good about now.... Get out there for one more ride while you can if you're up in the North country....I'll definitely be out again tomorrow. Ride safe in the sunny states.....
Yes...this is to early, they're calling for 3-6" lake effect snow this evening...coming straight down off lake michigan, live in the county right at the bottom. What really sucks is sold the snowmobiles last year. Oh well, deer gun season opened Sat...maybe I can shoot something, things been tough, early crappy weather has prevented a lot of the crops in my area to get harvested yet...lots of standing corn still...IOW, can win for losing
new record low temp for me today. Had to ride to work so I could head straight to the dealer for my 1000 mile service and T/P install. 29 Degrees! I would have NEVER tried that on my lowrider. Besides,,, it's always warmer on a NEW Harley
+1 on the Gerbing heated gear, been using if for over 8 years. Jacket liner, Gloves and overpants. Look on their site for a local rep, Mike Vlahos is in MD close to the PA line, and has always given me great service and measured me to have the pants custom fit.
