My thoughts are that heated grips will only warm the palm of your hand and not protect the backside of your hand. Why not take the money you are going to spend on heated grips and get some nice Gerbing G3 electric gloves. Go to www.grandprixmotorsports.com and get a 20% discount until the end of December. Hard earned $$$ better spent !!!

I have them, I like them and have had no problems thus far. The problems people have had and posted here on this forum keep me causious but to date no issues. They were dealer installed before I picked the bike up in August and would be covered under the warranty. I have limited time on them but they work great.

Does your Ultra have ABS brakes? If so, there are issues getting heatead grips installed.

Yes it has ABS brakes. I'm not aware of any issues with the installation. Like I said I had them and the heated seat purchased at the time I bought the bike so all is covered under warranty.

Mine are two years old and work great. I don't even change my gloves in the winter, just turn the heat up.

I have an 08 UC and have the Harley heated grips. They had problems with the install but finally got it correct. having come off a BMW with heated grips, I will always have bikes with heated grips. Heated gloves obviously generate more, and better dispersed heat. However, during the transitional months in the spring and late fall, or on any chlly morning, the grips provide plenty of comfort and as the day begins to warm, you don't have to take off and switch from bulky electric gloves. It provides for seamless temperature control. The heated gloves are on for good when temps drop consistently below 40 for me. If you buy the grips, you'll use and enjoy them.
