Let me start by guessing you have never tried to kick a big CC bike. If you had you would never say such a thing. When I was growing up we had a 68 TRIUMPH bonneville chopper and it for the most part was easy to start but let me tell you if it didn't start. You could kick it but maybe 10 12 times and you were done in the heat of a july day.And to kick a 80" 88" 96" or more WOW that would be tough. I agree with the others while you are kicking your a$$ off trying to look cool I will be riding and looking cool. LMAO

I've had kick starts on every foreign bike I've owned since I was fifteen, some big, some small engine wise, and as I said I would use the electric start more often than not. I was just curious as to why the MOCO got rid of them. They've hung onto the "old war horse V-twin" and I'm glad they did. But the kick got kicked out the door!

used to be, if the battery was too low for the electric start, it would still fire with a kick. Beginning with the EVO, the ignition requires a minimum voltage and kicking all day still won't start the bike with a dead battery.
There is nothing cool about an old man kicking a bike that ain't gonna start.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! My guess would be that you never been there.
I was never so glad to see something disappear in my life.
As for the chicks....they'll really be impressed when you jump on that thing and it either doesn't start, or takes a big chunk out of your shinbone......Good luck with that!

Had a kick start back in my younger days, still remember the cold morning kickings. Pass on the kick start there's other ways to be cool.

Oh and I almost foregot turn the left hand grip all the way to the left to retard the spark
so it doesn't kick you over the handlebars

Holy Smokin' Cow! My kickin' days are in the rear view mirror. Sore feet, scraped up ankles, not to mention the multiple shin scrapes when your foot slides off and you rub the front of your shin all the way across the stupid pedal, oh, and those wonderful out of breath kick sessions, (thinking if you kick it harder it'll start sooner)....and you want that back? Obviously you DO NOT KNOW what your missing. Cool factor? Push the button and it starts every single time....VS...Kicking your Azz off and havin' folks laughin' and askin' why that pig won't start. Listen my friend, this is something you do NOT really want. But if you do, there's plenty of aftermarket options out there. It'll end up being a wall flower if you do get it, the button will get ALL the use. Trust us on this one......

How's your right knee doing because if you want to F it up put on the kick starter on an 88'' motor and you will know what bad knees will feel like.
