sat night, wasn't busting your chops. i took it as a joke, thats why i threw the bearing skate in there.
however, got to mention. the default is not always the default. what i mean is its not always 1-1-1-1-1.... when my bike came, the default was the last 5 digits of the vin number.... so if all ones doesn't work, try that one too.
Hi all just want to say thanks for this Thread and everyone involved.
I bought my Road King a couple years ago and had no idea it had a Security System (no Alarm), the reseller said it didnt have the Factory Security System.
After reading all Threads pertaining to how to identify the Module and a test function using the Ignition and signals I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I had a Security System.
I went to a Local Dealer and bought a key FOB and Married/Paired the FOB to the System.
Now as to this Thread, I was able to find the existing Code from the previous Owner which displayed in the Odometer Area. I was able to change the Code and now looking towards the purchase of the Factory Siren Alarm.
Many thanks again for the point to point description on HOW TO .
use the wallet card from the back of your owners manuel,it even has a place to write your code.as far as default -no such thing the dealers initialize the security they all use different code from vin to area code to god only knows.
. I was able to change the Code and now looking towards the purchase of the Factory Siren Alarm.
.
excellent find. instead of the hd siren, check out the radio shack siren install thread. sure it doesn't have battery back up (which the thief won't know anyway), but for $6.00, you can't beat it.
