Yes Bob,

The Harley grease is specially formulated to work in the steering head bearings of all Harleys J/K. Use what you have. You won't hurt anything.

I would use what you have, The grease you have in your tube could have been made in the same place the h.d. stuff was. Just another way to try to get you to spend some $$$. Harley would want you to believe that you need to use thier stuff on everything on the bike, Im surprised they dont sell H.D. Air in a can to use to inflate the tires!!!

Isn't that part of the verrrry expensive 10K HD service? Don't they change the air in both tires and adjust it to summer or winter air so the RUB's can brag they had their air changed for seasonal adjustments?

I went with the HD grease. Read in another post that it's formulated different than other grease. Evidently on hot days, other grease has a way of ooozing down and out, thus splattering on front of motor. It's cheap insurance... the grease isn't that much.

I went with HD grease last weekend and now I have a lifetime supply, only available in the large cartrige. At least the grease was only about $8, however no gun so there goes another $10. All in all a cheap trip to the stealership. HaHa usually costs me a ton more. So how much is the HD Air in a can?

You gotta use their grease and THEIR oil all others will cause failure.....and while we are on the subject of oil what does everyone think is the best type of oil to use [8D] ?

p.s.
Any type will work, marine grade would be best.
