Default I need some convincing

I had my choice between '08 and '09 and after evaluating the changes made for '09 I went with the '08. I keep hearing so many people say "the changes made are such an improvement" but I don't see it that way. Someone convince me what changes improved the bike! I like the bigger rear tire, that I can say, but the rest not at all. And please don't get mad if I rebut.

Why does it matter what anyone else thinks? What matters is what YOU think and you've obviously made your decision. So ride it and enjoy it. Don't ask us to second guess you and start a pissing match over the differences. You obviously got it at a leftover "sale" price so you got what you paid for. So then, buy your frame stabilizer of choice and be happy with it.

I'd rather just congratulate you on a new scoot and leave it at that rather then debate the "pro's and con's" of 08 versus 09, just so you might feel warm and fuzzy (or not) about your decision. SOUNDS LIKE you are second guessing yourself????? Anyway, Congratulations!

no need to buy a 250-500 dollar frame stabilizer ...
bigger rear tire 180 vs 140...(at least stock)
if you get ABS.. it's not in the bags.. it's now hidden
new frame also can carry more weight.. FATTY!

08s have the nice brembo brakes and so do the 09 touring..
electronic throttle control too on 08s and 09s..

what else...

The choice is yours! You sound like an educated consumer.

What was your reasoning for choosing the 08 over the 09?

'08 and '09? I'd take the '09 in a heartbeat.

Engine alone is 3 model yrs past the upgrade in 2007. Same with the tranny. Lot's of time has passed to get any little quirks out in both.

The new frame is a no-brainer.

If you saved a ton on the '08 then that's great. Either way they're great bikes.

Given a price point that might be close I'd take the '09.

Screw it. Ride and enjoy!

I owned an 03 Ultra, then an 06 RK and I don't know what happened to the motor mounts between the two model yrs but something did. Then I bought my new 09 Ultra and with the new motor mounting system,to say the least I am amazed and completely satisfied with the results of the new mounting system. I guess its all in your perspective, ie what you are moving from and what you are moving to.

The 08 is a year old?
The 09 is brand new?
As mentioned, the fatter rear.....better frame.....isn't the exhaust routed differently?
If you had your choice, other than price, why wouldn't you go with the 09?
