Default Synthetic vs. regular

Hello All! I was wondering if the added cost of synthetic oil was worth the purchase? And does it reduce the temperature and by how much? If synthetic is the way to go, is any one brand better than the next?

There are many threads on oil dino vs syn.

Go with the Syn it's worth it. It'll lower the temp.

Amsoil is good. Many prefer Royal Purple, Mobil 1, etc...

Do a "Search" by typing in oil and be ready to read for days on the subject....

Yes, synthetic is the way to go for many reasons. I personally use Amsoil in my SUV, Pick-Up, V-Rod and my new Street Glide....

Synthetic made enough difference in my 07 ultra that already had Pythons,SE air cleaner, fuelpak, and JR's heatshields that I could FEEL IT stopped at a stoplight in Virginia this summer . Felt like the engine size was reduced by 1/3, well worth the money!

I don't use oil of any kind, I don't believe in it...

But doesn't this thread belong in the OIL section so this debate will not rage on yet again ??

I've just recently spent hours reading about "oils". I decided on Mobile 1 V-twin 20-50 and Mobile 1 75/90 for the transmission. They all pretty much seem like good syn oils. They are expensive 20-50 is almost $10/qt and the 75/90 is $12/qt.
My question is how long before changes. I live in SC, take a couple 1200 mile round trip per year. About 5000 miles total per year.
