Default problems with cruise

The other day i was riding with my cruise sat at 60 mph. Then i started to go up a hill and it started accelerating, it go up to 70 mph, so i hit the brake and it didn't disengage the cruise. After i pulled in the clutch it shut off. Has anyone else had any similar problems???

Sounds like you need to get the lash re-set, or your Control module is going bad....

Do you have the Service manual and Electrical Diag. manual?

There are some VERY EASY and SIMPLE tests, as well as how to pull out DTC's from the Cruise Module..

No i don't have any of the service manuals. It would be covered under my warranty so i could have the stealer check it for free right??? I am taking it to the dealership on thursday.

My 02 Road King Classic had the same symptoms, turned out to be the control module, and it was covered under warranty. Be careful if you do use it before getting it looked at cause my King took off on me like there was no tommorrow (and there almost wasn't!!).

My simple rule is, buy the Harley then buy the correct service manual - one of the most important accessories you can buy... Just my .02

Second that! Even if you don't do your own work it can help you figure out what happened and how big a deal it is. Like said above GET IT FIXED!! a cruise witha mind of it's own can be very dangerous.[>:]
