Default Balance Point

I’ve seen baggers picked up by the backbone between the gas tank and the seat. Is that point close to the center of balance fore and aft?

I'm no expert, but I'd say "no" based on how the bike wants to tip forward when lifting on a jack stand. At that point on a tourer there's a whole lotta engine forward (plus gas in the tank).

But, here's an informative video (thanks to "Ihbond" from an earlier post)for others who may need it later on (hope not though):

the cop doesn't mention it, but put the kick stand down first when lifting bike from the right side.

I've only had to do it once (from right side) and facing forward, I grabbed the throttle grip with my right hand, and middle of the bag guard with my left while using my left thigh braced up against the bike where the saddle meets the tank. Maybe not the best way but it worked for me.
