Has anyone with an '09 Street Glide installed the Monster Ovals with the 2008 part number and if so, has there been any clearance issues with the axle nuts???
Reason being, the people at Vance & Hines are telling me that the Street Glide is the only '09 Touring Bike where the '08 Monster Oval pipes fit without an issue.....
As long as they will guarantee they will replace the pipes if they do hit, I don't have an issue installing them. Yes, I got a killer deal on the pipes but would hate to tear everything apart again to replace them.
You need to use the 09 part number there will be clearence issues with the heat shield if you don't, I just installed a set on my 09 Ultra and you can see what the problem would be if they didn't remove part of the heat shield.

The top of the heat shields are already cut out on the pipes sent to me. I thought the pipes themselves needed to be notched out also...If not, I should be OK.
The problem with 09 Ovals (at least what I read) vs the 08, was that they needed to be notched in the actual muffler for the rear axle nut to avoid hitting when the bike is completely compressed from hitting a bump. There was some pics on this a while back on the forum, you might try a search and get the info you need. Hope this helps.

I am the one the prev poster referred to in the two links posted.
They will work on the 09 STREET GLIDE ONLY as stated to you by V&H. (and In my personal experience) I put the bike up on a lift to get full shock extension, and there were no clearance issues.
Again, as V&H stated, they will only work on the SG, (because of the shorter shocks) all other 09 baggers need the 09 version of the mufflers.

Thank you, I just needed someone else to clarify that for me......I'm breathing a lot easier now......
