Default Harley or Aftermarket
Everybody,
What brand of battery are you buying to replace the original Harley battery?
Is Harley the best?
What about a higher cranking amp when you do engine mods?

Stick with the Harley battery. Costs a little more but well worth it.

Went to a local battery dealer who tested for the highest cca reading on all his batterys,which is what I needed for the 155".It was less money.

The Harley batteries last longer than most of the aftermarket ones

While the Harley battery is OK, keep in mind that its made by somebody other than Harley. The only Harley battery I've owned came with the bike when I bought it. I buy from a local shop that specializes in batteries and cost me about $80, an HD battery is probably $50 more. HD made plenty of moola from me when I bought the bike; just can't see contributing more to their bottom line.

I get the HD battery for under $100 at Chicago HD. Couldn't find an aftermarket for enough less to make it worth the trouble of chasing it down.

What makes it "well worth it"? Have you seen actual test reports that you can direct us to see?

I have used after market batteries for years and can not see any difference between them and the batteries sold by Harley.
