I haven't really looked that close at my stock mufflers and I'll be getting my Wild Pigs next week. Do I have to remove any heat shields before I change out my mufflers? I have a Road King Classic. Thanks
You shouldn't have to take them off but you should loosen the clamps to allow the slip-ons to slide off and on easier. Should be a simple install. Good luck.
See if the Torca clamps loosen enough without loosening the heat shield. If they do thats all there is to it. I would loosen the Torca clamps first then take the two bolts out under the bags. That should keep the weight of the pipe from putting the slip joint in a bind. Good luck![&:]
put the pigs on mine without removing any shields...I got home from work and the box was on the drive...it took almost as long to get the wrenchs from the tool box and unwrap the pigs from the shipping packing as it did to make the change.
I got them on ebay for $144 plus $20 for shipping. They are suppose to be the ones that didn't make the final cut, but from what I understand the blemishes are nothing. I also found out the seller is actually the manufacterer.

When you get the Wild Pigs, look at the slits in the pipe where it slips onto the head pipes. Make sure they are open enough to allow for a proper seal with the head pipe. When I bought my Wild Pigs, the slits were too small and would make contact before allowing a good tight seal. I had to take a cut-off wheel and open them up a little bit, once that is done they will make a good seal with the head pipe.
left the baffles in...they sond good enough without removing them...people I work with asked where the heck i found out about the wild pigs....seems on here they are at least getting some recognition...and a quality inexpensive option.
