Question Tuning Pkg

i have an 06 SG and i am trying to make up my mind between SERT and dyno, or Jamies power package. Now i have truduals, 64903 screaming eagles {off road only} stage 1 w/K&N and fuel pack. Bike runs good, get about 43 m,pg in summer and 38 in winter. Just looking for a little more.

Swapping tuners is a waste of money as far as performance gains go. If your bike runs good and is getting good mileage, which it is, you aren't gonna gain much by changing tuners. You are gonna have to buy some metal parts if you want to take the next step up in power.

You'll get more HP/TQ out of Jamie's Power Package, the main reason being the Jackpot mufflers. His asymmetrical baffle design is the trick setup for bikes with stock head pipes.

Another point is that even when tuned the true-dual setup won't produce optimal low-end performance, especially compared to the PP. The problem is that you've already spent quite a bit of money on your present setup, but if I were in your shoes I'd remove it all, sell it on Ebay, pull your old head pipes out of the attic, and buy the PP. I'll wager you won't be disappointed in the results. What you'll miss is the stereophonic sound, if that's important to you, as some prefer it over the performance loss. Also, the crossover pipe will be back, which produces more heat on the right leg, so the changeover isn't without its drawbacks, minor as they may be. You'll just need to establish your priorities and go from there.

As a caveat, Jamie's maps tend to favor performance and cooling over mileage, but leaning the cruise range will bring mileage up to stock or near it while not sacrificing performance when you need it. If you ask, Jamie will install a "mileage map" that will help. Personally, I've gone further with leaning the cruise range on the PCIII with great results, but that's another story. I get 38-50mpg depending on conditions, and the performance is still there when I roll it on.
