Dunno about the windvest, but I just installed an 8inch clearview with recurve dark grey on my 09 streetglide. Took the bike out for a spin, nailed 90miles and hour and lower(heh) and no buffeting anymore (vs. the stock 4incher..if u want to call it that lol).
great craftmanship on the clearview as well and looks great on the bike !!
im 6'2" and heh.. about 30inches from waist to top of head.. can see over the 8inch clearview with no problem and duck a bit to hide behind it.. no buffeting at highway speeds

I have a 10 inch clear Wind vest so far its the best shield I have tried. A little pricey at 160 shipped to my house but it was worth it I even spent the money on a Cee Bailey SSC (14 inch) would be an 11 inch compared to the windvest and I didnt like it as much
CB was hitting me right square in the forehead when the windvest tips the wind up and over about 2 inches higher
If the Windvest was a 12 inch it would be perfect for me but the tallest is only 10 for now. I called then asking if they could custom make me a 12 and they said they would look into it and call me back. I guess we will see if they follow up or not
I had a Clearview on my fatboy damn thing cots me 230 freakin bucks!!! And I still had wind buffeting maybe ill try one on the ultra some day but the lead time is ridiculous at 8 weeks!!! Come-on now Windvest had theirs to me in under 2 weeks
call Clearview, some times they have some in stock ready to ship and they always have blems, on mine I can't even find the blem plus I received it in less than 1 week
Clearview w/recurve for an Ultra is under $100, don't know what you paid $230 for, was that for a Road King or something?
Old Post...Bumping to see if anyone can give a comparison now.
Anyone switched from Clearview to Windvest?
I have an 8" clearview on my flht, great shield IMO. Rode a buddy of mine's sg with a 8" windvest. It does have more pronounced recurve and pushes the air up a little higher, not much though. So if it was a money situation I would say try a blem from clearview, also their customer support is top notch. I got the same protection from the 8 inch clearview as I was with a 11" stocker and had no problem looking over.
Had a 6.5 Clearview recurve on my 08 SG. Sold the bike and got a 6 Windvest cuz couldn't get a c/v quick enough. W/v is .5 shorter, but is a bit more square (taller) at each side than c/v. Overall, I find w/v a bit better looking and a bit better protection. Windvest gets my vote
