It only took 20 minutes but HD wants/needs 3 hours, strange. I'm going to start timing these guys a bit when my bike goes in. Although, they may want paid 3 hrs. knowing it takes less.
Thats a catch with Flat Rate. I know a dealer that used to charge 1 hour to replace a front or rear tire. Now they charge 1.5 hours, doesn't take any longer this year than last. They would rather bump the flat rate up than raise the hourly rate, guess they don't think people keep track of these things.

Steve,

Yes, the antenna bracket goes inside the fairing, on the clutch side inner fairing support bracket, just outboard of the back of the speedo. It actually nests over the fairing support bracket with one tab on each side and another tab 90 degrees aff where the allen screw goes through the antenna bracket, fairing suport bracket, and into the inner fairing.

Harry,

I want to throw a big "thank you" out there to you. Your post about trimming the harness to only go to the xm module was a fantastic idea. I wasn't sure I wanted to start cutting up an item I just paid $130 for, but it sure looks alot nicer without all that crap hanging off the back of the radio. I did keep the rest of the harness as well as keep it in good shape in case I do ever want to put it to use.

Glad it was helpful for you. I hate clutter (just ask my soon to be ex-wife), so it was a natural for me to strip out the unneeded parts.

WOW, I thought $500 was steep, I didn't know ya needed a $140 harness too! That harness must be in small print somewhere or else I thought it was the harness that comes with the radio.

The part that really stinks about that harness, is the fact that you don't need 90% of the stuff that's on it. I ended up cutting all the extra things I don't have off of it. All the wiring for the ultra is there. I really didn't want to try and cram all that extra wire I wasn't even gonna use, inside the fairing when it was already a tight fit. I did save everything that I took off in case I want to make an ultra road glide.

Harry-

I am thinking of adding this to my bike and was wondering if the XM is quieter than FM or CD at the same volume setting? Some guys have said it was.

It seems to be equally loud in all modes...AM, FM, XM, WB, Aux, CD
