Default Outer primary part #

This winter I'm going to replace the polished covers on my 06 EG Std.The part # for the outer primary is 60665-99B.I've found a used one in mint condition, but the # on the inside of the cover is 60665-99,its missing the B....I know that this means that the cover has been updated.I'm wondering if there was a problem with this cover?

You should be fine. Have you found a cam cover yet?

Thanks for the response Dawg, how did you know that I still need a cam cover? With the primary, there was the 2 transmission covers in mint condition too,but no cam cover.I'll find one I hope between now and april.
I ve dicovered what the change was to the primary cover. The one on my 06 has a flat surface where the derby cover screws on.The older one has a groove in it where an o-ring would go.
I hope my derby cover will seal properly.

If you use derby cover gasket 25416-99C you'll be fine. I want to go black powdercoat so if you want to swap covers let me know

That's a helluva deal, Dan!
Can't beat that with a stick!

Dawg, if Dan decides not to do this swap...PM me please.
My brother has a '99 Standard and he's wanting to chrome his covers, too.
Thanks!

Thanks for the offer Dawg, but I won't be doing the swap until april.I'm sure that you would want the cam cover long before that.My bike is in heated storage 60 miles from me,and I can't do anything to it over the winter. My next house will have a heated garage.

dansflhti - Just curious... why replace you covers rather than having yours powder coated? Less expense, can pick the color or texture you want and you know they will fit. I'm sure there is a good powder coater in your area that can give ya what you're looking for.

I believe he is going chrome. I on the other hand am powdercoating so I would rather have polished instead of chrome so it's not as much work for the powdercoater
