I use a Western MFG lift with a drop out for the rear wheel. The lift looks exactally like a Handy lift but is a full 30" wide. I can ride the bike up on it and still keep my feet on the table. No need for extensions.
I've been kicking around for a lift too. It's a tossup between a 24" wide table lift that I would like to sink into the floor so the table will be flush, or, a Kendon rail lift which stands up out of the way.
FireAlan this is just my .02 but I had the Kendon and I thought it was a POS for what I wanted. I checked your posts and you have a Electraglide. When I had the Kendon, I too had a EG and it scared the $**** out of me rolling that big beast onto a 8" wide lift and not being able to see the ramp at that. Great for a sportster, maybe a dirt bike...full size Harley....not for me.
I recently bought one off ebay a fellow had for sale, a great deal, came from Harbor
freight, sold for new under $500. He replaced the front wheel chock with another, said the stock one was crap. It works great and had a drop out for the rear wheel, its not an air lift but jack works easy. I use it a lot, also have a floor jack I use mostly when I wash the bike. I found this lift great with the other chock, you don't need to tie it down but I do for peace of mind. A solid bike lift for the money..
What is the advantage compared to a lift jack.
With the lif jack you can drop both wheels and move the bike around the garage.
I just don't see the advantage of a lift
