Thanks for the feedback. I thought I should clarify a couple of points.
The bike was in the dealer's own rental fleet, and maintained by them. I realize that some of the renters may have driven the bike harder than an owner might. At an asking price of $ 17,900 CAN, equivalent US price would be $ 14,900 because of the present exchange rate.
They are not hiding anything just protecting themselves against a privacy lawsuit. I do not want to be contacted by anybody that purchased anything that i previously owned and would consider it a violation of my privacy for a dealer to give out my personal information. I am not interested in getting involved in a strangers purchase from a dealer and would hang up. What makes you think that contacting a previous owner will give you any useful information? Previous owners do not lie? To me thats nothing more than a shot in the dark not worth the time. You are better served educating yourself on what to look for and trust your own knowledge or in the very least take someone with you who has that knowledge.
Are you a dealer???
Slacker8.. Your quote.. "it would make me think the dealer has something to hide if they will not provide the info".. SEE ABOVE..
Most of us are just looking for information etc. about who had your baby (bike) before you.. And were/are looking to help the next guy who got yours out..
Just foolish ideology compared to corporate liability...(sigh)
At that price i would ask for them to provide the service plan. If they do that it sounds like a good deal to me. You might ask to see the service records as that would show you exactly what was replaced or repaired on the bike.
I am in Calgary and have a beuatiful 07 Streetglide for sale. Tons of extra's and a brand new (zero mile) takeout motor that was sold to me by a local dealer when they upgraded one of their 08 Streeglides to a 131 motor. It's fresh with the new motor, clutch, rubber and much much more including custom paint. Never dropped
I have an enclosed trailer and could deliver it if interested. Bike is now on eBay with some decent action on it and I will PM you the link to the auction if interested.
I would be extremely leery of buying a used rental from any place, you don't know how it's been ridden. On top of that it's been dropped - I'd think I'd keep looking for something else...JMHO.
Beattle55, What will they sell you the extended warranty for?. It sucks the prices on the bikes went up 10% this week ,including the used ones on the Island. Its a rental, but if you got the extended cheap enough you will probably be selling it before the warranty runs out .In any case always get the abs. love mine

I wouldn't do it....Too risky....Went that route years ago on one that had been wrecked and found too many unknowns afterwards. It turned out to be a mistake...But if your a GAMBLER go for it. I did but not again!!
Just my opinion and everyones got'em....Good luck on what ever you decide.
