I am saving for the Aldan System. I know this is a question for Arnott but I wonder which length I should get (12" or 13") if I'm planning to do an 18" rear wheel in the future? My RK Custom is dropped 1" under stock using Progressive shocks. (Stock height for FLHRS & FLHX is already 1" under standard. Mine is an additional -1")
I too would like to lower my SG and stay safe too. I am looking into Progressive rear shocks 1/2" or 1" lower than stock and the air ride systems too. Sounds great to be able to adjust the ride height as needed. But what about the front? Doesn't that have to be lowered too? I am wondering how much work changing the front system is? Has anyone here done this?
Yes the front has to be done as well. I lowered mine with the HD low profile front end. I have Progressive rear shocks but I bottom out on occasion AND it's nearly impossible to go 2-up. If you go with Progressive, make sure you get the heavy duty shock.
With the air ride system you can adjust your height to suit the conditions. If there are large bumps in the road I raise it so I do not bottom out. In slow traffic I can ride it slammed or in between. I can lower it to back up or in gravel or sand. 2 up is no problem. I raise the pressure from 40lbs to 80lbs while on the go. I did not want to be stuck with one height that bottomed out on rough roads and a problem with 2 up. I riase my bike, drop the center stand then drop the air ride onto the stand. 0 effort and safer trying to put this 09 UC on a stand.. This is the perfect solution for me.

I was wondering how much work or trouble it is to install the HD front lowering kit?
Progressive also make a kit for the front fork, do you think it would be a better choice over the HD kit?
I lowered the front with Progressive when I Chromed the front legs. The kit comes with directions and if you have the HD Manual for back up. You will need to know how much oil you will need . It took me 5 hours, lowered the front 1 inch and had the Street Glide stock shocks lowered from BraggerBrace.

I put the 13" Aldan system on my 07 UC. I also have a 21x18 setup. I was told by Arnott to go with the 13", as it will not rub the tire if fully deflated. Seems good so far; Im very pleased with the system. Installed myself in a few hours.

Thanks for the info. I do have the Harley Manual, just wasn't sure how difficult it is to remove the inner and outer fairing, electrical etc.
Does the fork have to be removed? Or can you just do it all from the top of the fork with everything attached? I don't think I want to remove the whole fork...
