New bike is very cool, no more looking at miles, when my light comes on the display tells me miles to empty, usually about 40. Got caught out in the sticks once and it was down to 5 before I came to a station. Seems to work great, so far I trust it.

If I'm going to be riding long distance through unfamilar territory, I usually check out AAA or something similar to see what fuel is available on my route then plan accordingly.

I do this when I ride through the Nevada, Utah desert as gas stations on this part of 80 tend to be open or closed depending on the season.

If I'm riding in an area with no concerns, then I check my trip odometer and when it get to around 100 miles, I start looking.

I always rest the trip odometer after fueling, never short fill, and never trust the fuel gauge.

Just my way, your method may vary,

Krusr

When the fuel light comes on. Unless I know it will be 30 miles plus to the next gas station. I get about 190miles on a tank. Unless in the Mountains.
