Hawg08, that is a really good looking bike you have there. Really crisp and clean! That black air cleaner looks great on there. I can even see my stabilizer on there.

Hawg,

Nice pics of your very nice looking ride. Question... is that a shifter ball I see there?

Took me an hour and a half, too - but that's after I pulled the bolts from the pan, saw the brace didn't come close to fitting, read the instructions (turned them over), reinstalled the oil pan bolts, and pulled the tranny pan bolts...

One thing to consider here guys, is that Harley redesigned the touring frames in 97. From 97 to 08 the frames are the same, with the front forks changing in 2000, and the rear swingarm changing in 2002, (slightly modified in 2007). If the brace was designed for a newer touring bike (ie. 97-08) it's very well possible that it would not correctly fit a 96.

Hey, I'm glad it worked good for you FastHoss! Some kids gonna love that little bike. Our toy-run was the 6th. It was like 58 degrees. Now.......it's 0! Have a Happy Holiday.
