I would like to lower the seat height, I have already changed the seat to the HD Reach Seat, but still need to get the height lower (My heels do not touch the ground when I sit on the bike.)
I have seen on this forum that riders with a similar issue, have installed 12" Progressive 412 shocks.
Has anyone installed the 11 1/2" Progressive 412 shocks on their bikes?
Any issues with going to the 11 1/2" shock?
I would really like to go with the 11 1/2" unless this would be a negative for the bike.
I ride alone, so I don't have to worry about the extra weight of a passenger.
I really like my 11.5" 412's. I have heard if you go to low the tire will hit the wiring harness on the underside of the fender, no problems for me though on an 06 RK. With them they cover more of the rear tire and feels much better at the stop signs. The ride was not as much of a downgrade as I thought they would be, I could not tell a big difference from the factory air shocks.
Dennis Kirk had a decent price on them and have a nice return policy.
Good Luck
I have a set of 11" progressive 412's. I am vertically challenged as well. Never the less I rode with them for about 8 months. The ride was very acceptable. The damping rate was a little quick for me. There were several times where bumps were a bit harsh on the rebound not on the initial contact. I never had a bottoming issue at all. I will probably sell these because I have just purchased a set of stock Harley air shocks cut down by Bitchen Baggers. I got these in 10 3/4". I ride solo too. So far I am very happy with them. Time will tell.
I put 11.5' 418's on my 07 with a 1" lowering kit on the front and it sure dropped the bike down. Looks killer, rides nice and makes a noticable difference on the ride height. Gotta watch to speed bumps or sweepers now as it drags the stand on the left handers quite quick if you're not paying attention. No regrets here!
I have the 11.5'' progressive 412's on my 07 RKC, and I am not light on my feet. I ride solo and love the ride. I have it on the second click and no rubbing what soever, on a hard bump I feel the recoil a little but no bottoming. I recomend these.
