I just noticed this today after coming home from the dealer.
They had to replace the right side saddle bag support because the muffler hanger broke.
After a cold ride with snow on both sides of the road and the plows still clearing the road I made it to the dealer.
On the way home going down the Cajon Pass here in So Cal I though I noticed the front end a little different.
Then when I was on a smooth level road I took my hands off the bars while I allowed the bike to slow down on its own.
When the bike reached 40 mph I noticed the bars shaking a little and as it reached 35 mph I had to put by hands back on the grips for fear I would end up with a tank slap.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I seem to recall being able to ride without my hands before....
What you have experienced is a almost normal condition that happens to many different bikes of all makes. I read an article explaining it and how it is caused. Something to do with deceleration and the gyroscopic effect of the front wheel. I tried it out and got my Ultra to do it 1 out of 5 tries. Just putting a finger on the handlebars would cause it not to happen. I would still have the neck barrings checked just for GPs.
